Mica Rapstine

I am a Postdoctoral Scholar in Philosophy at UNC Chapel Hill and a contributor to UNC's Educating for the Virtues of Attention Initiative. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Michigan, where I was advised by Sarah Buss and Peter Railton.

In my research I take a path through ethics, moral psychology, the philosophy of mind and action, and epistemology. Much of my current work concerns the nature and normativity of the emotions which we experience in the context of moral life. I am particularly interested in the significance of our emotional attitudes for what we owe others and for how we change our minds about moral matters.
